These boys and this family are one of the many joys of my career! I started photographing the oldest boy when he was about 3 and since then we have shot many, many sessions together. Some have been with lambs, some with grandparents… and then onto the Newborn Photo Session and 6 Month Milestone and One Year photo sessions when the twins came along.

For this Birthday Photo Session there were two things that Mom asked for and one thing that I thought was a must!

The first thing she wanted:

Four years prior to this we had done a photo shoot with for her oldest boys 3rd birthday where he was fishing so we wanted to make sure we duplicated that with the younger boys. (To the right are some of the photos from our original photo session and below are photos from our session four years later with the brothers)

The Second thing she wanted: Was pictures of the boys just playing and being boys! So she grabbed their favorite trucks and we went down to the creek to play.

I was absolutely thrilled at this idea! Lifestyle photography does require directing at times… and then there are times (like this) where you just say “Go Play”

So now we come to MY requirement… well suggestion (but really a requirement, ha)

The 2 Year Old Photo Session must be turned into a Family Photo Session! I know this Mom is going to love these pictures for years and year! Eventually, however, it’s going to be these boys turn to love these photos! These photos will show their legacy and their parents are their legacy.

Of course this sweet Mom had no problem with that!
