The Best Locations for Family Photos in Birmingham, Alabama

One of the questions I am asked most often is, "Where should we take our family photos?"

Birmingham Botanical Gardens

The Birmingham Botanical Gardens is one of the most popular family photo locations in Birmingham, and for good reason.

The gardens offer beautiful greenery, walking paths, flowers throughout much of the year, and a variety of backdrops within a relatively small area. This makes it a wonderful choice for families with young children since we do not have to walk far to find beautiful scenery.

The gardens photograph beautifully in every season and offer plenty of options for both classic portraits and candid moments.

Aldridge Gardens

Located in Hoover, Aldridge Gardens is a favorite for families looking for a lush, natural setting.

The walking trails, bridges, and beautiful landscaping create a peaceful atmosphere that photographs beautifully. The mature trees provide lovely shade, making it a great option during warmer months.

Aldridge Gardens feels elegant while still being relaxed and family-friendly.

Railroad Park

If you love a blend of greenery and city views, Railroad Park is a great choice.

Vestavia Hills Baptist Church

Vestavia Hills Baptist Church has become one of my favorite locations for family sessions, especially for families who love a classic and timeless look.

The beautiful stone architecture, walkways, and surrounding greenery provide a variety of backdrops without requiring a lot of walking. The neutral tones photograph beautifully year-round and create images that feel elegant without being overly formal.

This location works particularly well for families with older children and teenagers who want a clean, polished look for their portraits.
