Capturing the first moments of life with your newborn is more than just a photo session—it’s about freezing the most precious, fleeting memories. Every tiny detail, every first yawn, every sweet cuddle—these moments deserve to be remembered forever. These early days pass quickly, but photographs give you a way to remember them long after they’ve changed.

Newborn Sessions:

  • Last about 90 minutes

  • Can be shot in my studio, your home, or an outdoor location

  • Are “baby led” with time for feeding and soothing as necessary

  • Your gallery will include lifestyle images of your newborn with your immediate family, along with a few classic baby portraits and detailed portraits.

  • Full gallery of edited high-resolution images (40+ images) with print release

Photo Session FAQ’s

  • For newborn photos, I recommend soft, neutral tones and comfortable, timeless clothing to keep the focus on your baby. Flowing fabrics, light layers, and subtle textures photograph beautifully, while avoiding bold patterns or logos helps create a clean, classic look.

    I recommend dads wear a neutral (gray or white) polo, henley, or button down

  • Most of my clients opt for in home photo sessions. (No, your house doesn’t have to be perfect)

    I also have a studio that is a great option.

    Outdoors is always an option as well!

  • While most sessions last between an hour to an hour and a half, newborn sessions are entirely baby-led. If your little one needs to eat, we pause; if it's time for a diaper change, we take care of it—everything flows at their pace. While uncommon, sessions can sometimes extend up to two and a half hours to ensure we capture relaxed, beautiful moments without feeling rushed.

  • Yes, you do! You can choose anywhere you would like to print your images.

    Note - My photos are edited to print on high quality calibrated machines. While big box printers are ok, the coloring on prints will vary from place to place.

  • Newborn sessions are usually scheduled about 2-3 weeks after your expected due date.

  • If we are shooting in-home of in studio, we will shoot mid morning to afternoon. If you opt for an outdoor session we will preferably shoot around golden hour.

  • Lifestyle Photography is a style of photography that captures people in natural, real-life moments with minimal posing. It focuses on authentic interactions, emotions, and storytelling rather than formal, stiff portraits. The goal is to create images that feel candid and genuine.

  • Your only job is to show up ready to love on your newborn, your spouse, and your other children if applicable—I'll take care of the rest. While lifestyle photography has a natural, candid feel, I'll gently guide you through each step to create beautifully authentic moments.

  • Absolutely! I believe in printing and displaying family photos (not just professional ones but snapshots from your phone as well). I will gladly help with any print, framing or layout designs you need!

  • I exclusively photograph newborns with their family, capturing the special connections between you and your little one. While you’ll receive a few images of your baby alone—whether on a bed, posing bag, or blanket—my primary focus is on documenting the love and bond within your family.
