My Family Photo Session Checklist | Family Photographer Birmingham, Al
Family photo day does not have to be stressful - In fact with the right photographer it can be a really fun experience.
Most of my families leave their session smiling, laughing, and ready for more!
Here are my tips for making your session as easy and enjoyable as possible.
Lay Out Everything Ahead of Time
A few days before your session, gather everything (clothes, shoes, accessories, socks, undergarments)
Make sure everything is clean, wrinkle-free, and ready to go.
Put it in a place where your teens and husband won’t move it
Give Yourself Extra Time to arrive at the session. Rushing is one of the fastest ways to create stress before your session even begins.
EAT A SNACK - This includes you, Mom! Hangry and fun do not work well together.
Set the Tone in the Car
Turn on your family's favorite music.
Grab a favorite drink on the way.
Talk about something fun.
Share something you appreciate about each family member.
Keep the Momentum Going upon Arrival As everyone gets out of the car say something nice to your family. (If the car ride didn’t go as plan, no worries! Now is the perfect time to start fresh)
Let Me Lead I am great at connecting with every member of your family. I want to capture each personality, and I have time-tested ways of helping everyone feel comfortable, relaxed, and seen.
You do not need to worry about posing and directing your kids/teens.
You do not need to make your kids smile.
Change your EXPECTATIONS for Perfection! In our social media driven world today all you see is the final edit. What you don’t see is the toddler rolling around on the ground and the teen rolling their eyes.Let Go of Perfect
The goal is spending time with your family while I capture the moments you are sharing together.
Relax, have fun, and trust the process.
I promise a good time will be had by all.
