John Carroll Catholic High School Senior Pictures | Birmingham AL Senior Photographer

One of my favorite things about senior sessions is that no two are ever the same.

This senior knew exactly what he wanted. He wanted to be in the woods. No city backgrounds, no busy locations, just a natural setting that felt like him. We found the perfect spot and spent the evening exploring trails, chasing good light, and creating images that reflected this season of his life.

What made this session especially fun was that his parents came along. The four of us spent most of the session laughing. There was plenty of joking, a few stories shared along the way, and the kind of easy conversation that makes an hour go by quickly. Those are often my favorite sessions because everyone relaxes and the photos feel natural.

As we talked throughout the evening, we spent a lot of time discussing what comes next. He will be heading to college in Texas, which made this season feel even more significant. Senior year is full of excitement, but there is also something bittersweet about knowing a big change is right around the corner.

That is one of the reasons I love senior photography. These photos are about more than yearbook deadlines and graduation announcements. They capture a season that will never quite look the same again. The places they love, the personalities they have grown into, and the people who have supported them along the way all become part of the story.

This session was relaxed, fun, and full of laughter from beginning to end. It was a great reminder that the best senior photos are often the ones that feel the most genuine.

If you are looking for a senior photographer in Birmingham AL, I would love to help you create a session that reflects who you are and what makes this season unique.
