Welcoming Baby at Home | Birmingham AL Newborn Photographer
There is something special about walking back into a home you have photographed before. I photographed this family a couple of years ago when their oldest was just a baby, and this time I walked in to find a two-year-old full of personality, curiosity, and awareness that something in her world had changed. A new baby had arrived, and everything felt just a little different in the best way.
We kept this newborn session at home, which is always my favorite place to photograph a family in this season. There is no pressure to pack up or be anywhere on time. Everything you need is already there, and everyone can settle in naturally. That really mattered for this session. Big sister stayed close, sometimes curious, sometimes unsure, and sometimes completely wrapped up in her own world. All of it was welcome. That is what life looks like with a toddler and a newborn, and it is exactly what I want families to remember.
This sweet girl was calm and content, settling in so easily. We moved slowly and let moments happen instead of trying to create them. That is always my goal during a newborn session. To give families space to be together in a season that already feels full and to document what it looks like right now, not what it should look like.
This season passes quickly. The days can feel long, but the weeks move fast. Before you know it, the newborn stage is gone, and everything begins to change again. Sessions like this are not about perfection. They are about remembering.
If you are expecting and looking for a newborn photographer in Birmingham AL, I would love to photograph your family in a way that feels natural and true to this season.
