What If My Kids Won’t Cooperate for Family Pictures?
One of the biggest worries parents have before family pictures is pretty simple:
What if my kids won’t cooperate?
First, your kids do not need to behave perfectly for us to get great family photos. In fact, I don't expect them to!
I’ll Guide You Through the Session
You don't need to show up knowing what to do, where to stand or how to get everyone to look at me.
That's my job.
I’ll guide your family throughout the session, and yes, we’ll get those classic everyone-looking-at-the-camera pictures. But we aren't going to spend the entire session trying to make your kids stand perfectly still and smile.
Sometimes We Just Need to Move
If your child is getting restless, we can move.
Walk together. Change locations. Take a little break. Let them reset.
Some of my favorite family pictures happen when everyone stops worrying quite so much about getting the “perfect” picture.
Please Don't Stress
I know that's easier said than done!
But if you're stressed because your child isn't cooperating, they're probably going to feel it too.
I've been photographing families for a long time. A child who doesn't want to smile, won't stand where we put them or suddenly decides they're DONE does not scare me. 😂
We will work with them.
Your Family Photos Should Look Like Your Family
Of course I want the beautiful portrait with everyone looking at the camera.
But I also want the photographs that show the relationships between you—the smiles, expressions and little moments that actually look like your family.
So if you've been putting off family pictures because you're worried your kids won't cooperate, don't.
Bring them just like they are. I'll handle the rest.
